Glenmoore>> Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show, at the intersection of routes 401 and 100 in Glenmoore, Chester County, reinvents itself yet again over Labor Day weekend (September 2-4, 2017) from 8 a.m.to dusk daily.
Area families have long found Ludwig’s Corner exactly the right place to be as they wind up their summer. The country fair entertains all ages with Saturday’s Pet Parade sponsored by Lulu’s Rescue (animals in costumes from pet rabbits to alpacas, no fee to enter), rides (mechanical bull, bungee jump, rock wall among others), children’s games, creepy crawlers, llamas and alpacas, jumping bunnies, pony and hay rides, live music, and boutique vendors featuring unusual gifts and clothing. There is even an antique tractor and car show. Catering by Yellow Springs feeds the crowd withBBQ, hamburgers, hotdogs, grilled chicken, wraps, salads, stuffed portabella mushrooms and ice cream.
Exciting equestrian action is featured in three competition rings, easily seen from the midway and country fair above. Riders of all ages from throughout the region compete at Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show each year, with events from Ladies Sidesaddle, Leadline for children, Hunter and Pony Derbies, and carriage driving. The marquis event is the $5,000. Ludwig’s Corner Mini Prix on Monday at approximately 12:00. This thrilling competition features regionally prominent riders and their horses at speed over tall jumps placed on a challenging course.
